Alright, now on to lighter things.
Last night was our last Sunday evening in our house. Next Sunday, we'll be in a bigger abode, not far from where we currently live, but a new street, new neighbours, and a lot more space. I am very excited, but Lisa is feeling a bit blue about the move. I know she'll come to love the new house, as we will be creating new memories.
So I decided to cook us a very nice, typical Sunday dinner (typical in the sense that it was something my mom or your mom could have made). We had prime rib, yorkshire pudding, garlic mashed potatoes, and asparagus. Topping it off was a VERY nice bottle of Spanish red wine.
I was feeling very relaxed and was enjoying every minute of our dinner together as a family - Aiden had us in stitches (again) and Marissa was not having a cry attack. I then proceeded to have another glass of red, go outside to my gazebo where there was a really nice, cool breeze, and smoke myself my last Cuban.
The cigar that was so lovingly hand-crafted my Fidel's minions, coupled with the wine and the breeze, had me in a totally euphoric state! It was this moment that I wanted to bottle and keep forever - that I am one lucky sonofabitch - a family that loves me, and one that I love back.
For all the emotional rollercoastering I went through in the last month or so, that moment last night brought me back to the starting line, ready to start yet another chapter.
On a musical note, I wanted to share with you a band that also brings me great happiness. They are called Band of Horses, and to me their music is audio heroin! Give them a listen, and go out and buy or download their album "Cease to begin" and "Everything all the time". It's indie alt/country/rock at it's best.

So glad you cherish the good stuff in life. Moves are always emotional. Change is emotional. When they towed our old grey car out of the driveway to take it to Car Heaven the other day, I was all choked up thinking about the memories...ah the memories. Sigh. Pass me a glass of that red.
Next time we go to Cuba, I'll bring you home a box of those Guantanamera's...they are good. Also the real chubby Cohiba's, a deadly good smoke.
Give Lisa my love and smooches, pat the hissing dragon on the head for me, and give the little man a big old Bear hug!!!

BTW, I saw a real Cuban cigar factory, it was kewl. You'd have liked it. They make all the brands under one roof. So sneaky!! Very cool hand rolling process though, and the place smelled lovely.
I posted some Cuba photos, go see.
