They say a watched pot never boils...

...in this case, a large belly that contains a small person. Oh sure, we sit and watch, and sometimes there is movement - a foot or hand, and more often than not, a bum pokes out. Lately, the shape goes from perfect basketball tucked behind a layer of skin to a misshapen oval looking thing. But like the watched pot, kettle, and toaster, this little person just hasn't popped. We are now T-plus 2, and have resigned ourselves to the fact that we'll have to force this wee person out of their comfort zone. Good times coming up for sure!

In other news,
- saw my first real march/protest in person the other day.
- had lunch with my cousin today at a pub that is across from Parliament. I gotta say, I do love my city :)
- the situation in Burma (some call it Myanmar, but it's difficult to support a military government that starves it's own people, so Burma it is!) is becoming more dire each day. The ruling junta are not allowing proper UN authorities access, emergency food supplies are not reaching those that need it, and the rest of the world seems to be sitting and waiting for some green light to help/intervene. It will get uglier before it gets better, to be sure
- I'm still on the fence about the upcoming Beijing Olympics - on one hand, I cannot support an event in a country that has a history of showing little regard for human rights, and yet I also agree that the Olympic Games should celebrate human achievements in athleticism and sportsmanship. Unfortunately, those lines continue to be blurred (and have been since Berlin, in my opinion). Hey, at least a team of Chinese and Tibetians got the torch to the top of Everest. Woo hoo!

There's more, but hey, can't go all-in too soon. Have a great weekend!

OH wow. Yes, the sitch in Burma stinks. And what is it about second babies? They love to roost just that much longer in the mom-condo!!!
I only just found out that some child's toys sold here (that came from China) were stuffed with garbage. Yum.
